That is one of the many videos he has posted on his myspace page. Extremely talented, extremely oblivious about his talent...How can you not admire a person like this?

Marley B also known as Deshawn is a good friend of mine. That is an understatement. Deshawn is actually my best friend. I've known him for about 7 years, even dated him a couple of times, yuck I know. lol no I'm only kidding...kind of. I don't use the word best friend often, I feel like it's an overrated statement people use to make others feel special but when there is a chance to back stab their 'best friend', they don't hesitate...not showing best friend qualities at all.


But with Deshawn it's different. Yes we have had our problems but none seriously enough to want this guy out of my life forever. We've lost contact a few times as well but one of us usually finds the other, some way, some how. It's usually him that finds me considering I am always in the same spot and he like travels the world. I have came to a conclusion this past summer that he is in my life for a reason, may not be for romantic purposes...believe me that ship has sailed but for a good reason indeed. I can tell him about anything and everything without having to worry about judgemental comments being an issues. I have told him things about my past that I normally keep from friends, afraid that they may see me in a different light...With him, none of that matters. He accepts the real me.


Aside from being my best friend, he is a rapper...a really good one at that. He'll probably disagree but if you sit down and listen to the things that he say he'll just blow your mind away. I'm not a huge fan of rap music, especially rappers who talk about gun busting and selling drugs, I feel as if their stories are false and they only rap about that because that is what most rappers in the mainstream talk about but with Deshawn his situation is different and that is probably because I know his situation. The fact that most of his lines comes from off the top of his head is insane...not too many "rappers" have the ability to do so.

I remember asking him how does he do it. Just flow off the top of his head. His answer was this.
"It's like chewing gum for me." It's that easy for him.

As of late he has been putting videos up of him free styling, and I couldn't be more happy for him. No he is not making a full length song, or starring in his own music video or even being signed to a label but he is showing the world a talent he possess, a talent that he is good at. It's real, it's raw and it's a part of him. Don't sleep.

I left him a comment letting him know that '09 is his year. I stand by what I say. He has been through so much in such an early stage of his life, he has to go up.
