I said I was going to do a review on the album a couple of days ago but never got around to it. My wireless Internet has not been working for some time now and it is beginning to become a huge inconvenience. It usually pops back in within an hour or so but it has been a couple of days and nothing yet. This is why I am in need of the new macbook, ugh!!!!
Okay back to the review. Like many others I was extremely excited about this album. I loved his new vision and knew that if anyone could pull this off, it would be Kanye. I wouldn't categorized him as just a rapper, considering he is also a producer, I would consider him an artist. A real artist. Kanye West is one of the few rappers that manages to paint a picture in my mind whenever I am listening to his music. I am a Kanye fan and I knew that his new album would not disappoint.
How wrong was I. First of all majority of the songs were already leaked on the Internet. I don't mind free music but if you're track list is limited then be caution about what you're putting out. I know, I know he probably wasn't aware that his songs were getting leaked on the Internet to begin with. I think differently but won't express my view in this post.
I fell in love with a few tracks before the CD dropped such as "street lights" and "See you in my nightmare" with Lil' Wayne but with others I had to listen repeatedly before getting a feel for it. For example "Heartless" and "Love lock down".
The album was mediocre. Nothing exciting about it. Everything sound the same, lyric wise. Nothing that he said gave me goose bumps, after a few line it became predictable. Everything he spit was too simple for my liking. He is no Jay-z of course but Kanye does say things that make you think or make you go "Ohhhh snap!". I got no "Ohhhhh" or no vision.
This cd did absolutely nothing for me. Such a disappointment. I want my damn money back!
